Poetry night
On July 13, 2016, at 7:30 p.m., Palazzo Ricca hosted “Poetry Night”, the final event of the project entitled “Il banco dei Poeti” (The Poet Bank), part of the cultural program of ilCartastorie in collaboration with the poet Davide Rondoni and the Banco di Napoli Foundation which financed the initiative.
“Il banco dei poeti” also included a competition for young poets inspired by the Archives and the “residency of the poet Antonio Riccardi. The event was designed to promote new poetic voices, to allow the wealth of stories in the Archives to be heard, and to provide an opportunity for poetry lovers to hear original works.
The program included:
- Proclamation of the prize winners of “Il banco dei poeti”, who received prize money, and saw their work published. The winners also read their poems to the public.
- Antonio Riccardi spoke about his “residency” at the archives and read his own work, which was the result of his experience there.
- Selection of poems by writers from the Campania Region – from past to contemporary times – through the voices of the actors Orlando Cinque and Arturo Muselli.
- Readings by Davide Rondoni, Maurizio Cucchi and Melania Panìco, members of the Jury who read selections from their own poetry.
The event was accompanied by musical interludes by Ambrogio Sparagna, maestro of popular Italian music, and Gianni Aversano, a Neapolitan actor and singer.
Entrance was free.
