The project is among various complementary activities carried out by ilCartastorie in concert with the celebrated exhibit at the MANN (Naples National Archeological Museum) entitled  “Carlo III e le antichità: Napoli Madrid Città del Mexico”,  on the figure of Charles of Bourbon as an early popularizer of archeological discoveries, especially through the publication of volumes using his Royal Printing Press. The initiative is the result of the collaboration and synergy among independent institutions in the effort to reinforce the Neapolitan museum network and their tourist and cultural offerings.

The exhibition offers a video featuring Rocco Gioacchino Alcubierre, who was the director of the Herculaneum Excavations from 1738 until his death, and a selection of related archival documents and relevant iconographic material.
